Student Phishing Notification:

Important Notice!!

Cybercriminals are targeting students across the country with phishing messages and fraud, as frequently happens around the start of school each year. These fraudulent messages often masquerade as job offers or technical support requests, urging you to provide sensitive information through third-party forms (such as Google Forms, Wix sites, or Forms.app).

Please be aware:

  • Legitimate university representatives will not ask for your passwords or banking details through these forms.

  • Legitimate university representatives will not ask you to provide a MFA/2FA code.

  • All official communication will come from @gcu.edu or @gce.com email addresses.

 

Tips to stay safe:

  • Verify the sender's email address before responding to any message.

  • Do not click on suspicious links or provide personal information through unverified forms.

  • Report any suspicious emails to itsecurity@gcu.edu or technicalsupport@gcu.edu
